Energy Reading June 2022

Our card this month is HONEYSUCKLE from the Green Man Tree Oracle.

Card Meaning

In the UK, HONEYSUCKLE is traditionally associated with initiation into hidden streams of knowledge and wisdom. The presence of honeysuckle in a reading suggests that a wealth of meaning lies hidden, ready to be uncovered and explored.

The Message

When I tuned in for the month of June to find out what further wisdom there is for us in this card, this was the message I got:

“In times of great change, where it is impossible to control outwards circumstances, sometimes the only true journey is the journey inwards into the heart of the Mystery.  Wisdom hides in secret places and there are streams of knowing and knowledge that you don’t know about yet but that are becoming accessible to you right now.  The breaking apart of the stability of what you have known, both outside of you and within you, is allowing the façade to crack and the light from within to be revealed.

It is time to journey deeper rather than farther. To root more fully into presence, to feel the call of the Earth beneath your feet, to be lured outdoors into the richness and beauty and multiplicity of Nature and to give yourself over to your birthright.

We are beings of the Earth, whether we like it or not.  And the call for our culture is to rediscover how to connect with our roots.  There are hidden pathways of knowledge and wisdom that we forgot a long time ago, waiting to be rediscovered and reintegrated.  It is time to choose the non-obvious path and open up a new stream of understanding for the benefit of all.”

So there you have it, our reading for June. If you haven’t signed up for my mailing list and would like to, please go to the link below.

With love as always,

The Egg of Protection

What is it useful for?

This visualisation is good for restoring the boundaries of your energy system after a period of turbulence, if you are feeling scattered, or going through huge changes in your life. It brings in energetic protection from unwanted energies and influences in your life. It is a really good exercise for empathic and sensitive people to incorporate into regular daily or weekly self-care routines.

I’ve written it in a form that you can read through and perhaps even record for yourself so you can use it as a guided meditation. It can be done as a long meditation working through the steps or imagined in it’s entirety as a quick, immediate reset.

The Steps:

1) Coloured Egg

Imagine that coming around you now there is an egg shaped bubble that stretches above your head by 1-2 feet, down in front of you, down both sides of you, and down the back of you, and then right underneath you. Imagine that all of this joins up to form a perfect egg shape coming all around you and encasing you.

Take your time to imagine, sense and even FEEL the egg shape forming around you and, once you feel it is complete, ask to be shown the colour that is for your Highest Good right now. And then imagine this colour is filling the whole of the egg, spreading into every part of it. If there are any gaps, then ask that these be filled in for you.

Then imagine that you see a colour volume dial in front of you. Turn this up and notice that the saturation of the colour increases.

2) Green Corona

Once you have the egg shape well established, imagine that coming around this is a 1 foot wide corona of bright, verdant green. The kind of green of the new spring leaves on the trees in May. Imagine this coming right over the top of your head, down the front of you, down the sides of you, down the back of you and right underneath you.

Again, take your time to imagine, sense and feel this corona forming around you. Ask for any gaps to be filled in, and then find the volume knob and turn up the saturation on this colour until it’s really vibrant.

3) Golden Shell

Once you have the green corona established, then imagine that coming round this now is a golden shell which comes over the top of your head, down the front of you, down the sides of you, down the back of you and underneath you.

Ask for any gaps to be filled in. And then ask that this shell be dedicated to allowing in only what is for your Highest Good and letting all else drop away.

Now tune into the whole of your experience of yourself, sensing and feeling if anything has shifted. Hopefully, you will notice that you feel calmer, more grounded, safer and more secure in your body and your being.

Energy Reading May 2022

Hi folks!

This month’s card comes from The Faeries Oracle by Brian Froud and Jessica Macbeth. I love this deck for tuning into elemental energies, and wasn’t surprised to be guided to this deck at this time of year, when the fairies are super busy weaving life into being out there in nature!

THE LAUME - Meaning

This month’s card is “The Laume” who is the fairy who likes to encourage us “to keep the credit side of our cosmic accounts balanced by freely giving”. She keeps a close eye on the balance between Unconditional Giving and Unconditional Receiving.

When I tuned about what this means for us, the message I got was this:

“It’s time to move this good ship forwards.  Whatever is stagnant in your life right now, it’s going to take a push of energy to shift it and to move things on.  And this is exactly the time of year to get things moving.

Many have had to be focussed inwards to their own lives in the last couple of years, managing the twists and turns that have come their way.  But as we have adjusted now to the new reality, it is time for us all to be a bit more focussed outwards.  Where can you lend a helping hand, connect with another, leave something or someone better than how you found them?

It doesn’t have to be anything huge.  Those small acts of kindness are all it takes to create a deluge of goodwill, if enough people are activated to help.

But don’t forget…. It’s a cycle.  For all you give out, you must also learn to receive too.  Out via one hand, in via the other.  This is what brings us into flow.  Grasping puts the brakes on, as does constantly giving out without filling up.

Attend to the balance of flow in your life and bring things into balance. Your world needs you to balance your inner books, in order to be as effective as possible for the sake of seeding more love, peace and harmony in the world.  Start the process within yourself and then your outward actions will come from a balanced and peaceful place.

This is what the world needs more of right now – those who can embody peace and harmony, even in challenging times.”

* * * * * * *

So there you have it, something to ponder on as you move through this month of May. Wishing you all a beautiful month. See you next time.

Warmly,

Miche

Ground, Connect, Centre

“Belting Beltane” by Miche Tetley

This energy exercise provides the essential foundation of connection to the Earth, to the Divine and to our Self. In practicing this exercise, we grow the ability to be present in our body, our spirit and the world simultaneously, which broadens the range of responses available to us in any given moment.

By coming right back into the Core of our Being-ness, we are able to access peace, tranquillity, love and harmony, no matter what’s going on around us. This is a place of true power and true sovereignty within ourselves. And it serves us well in terms of making choices in how to take intentional action within the world.

I’ve recorded it as a guided visualisation, to support you to be able to surrender into the experience of these layers of your Being-ness. The more you practice, the more these layers will come to life within you, and be available immediately by directing your energy system to align using these words:

“Deepest Earth, thank you”

“Highest Consciousness, thank you”

“Heart of Everything, thank you”

Wishing you joy with exploring this practice! And please do get in touch if you have any questions. If you haven’t already, you can sign up below to receive my monthly newsletter.

Warmly, as always,

Miche

Energy Reading April 2022

Hello everyone!

The card for this month comes from the Osho Zen Tarot deck, which is the deck that I use for doing Soul Readings with clients, and the deck I first used to help me to learn to read energy.

NO-THINGNESS - Meaning

This month’s card is “No-Thingness” which depicts the field of pure potential, the Void (futile or fertile), from which all things are born.

This is a major arcana card which means that it is a ‘universal’ rather than a ‘personal’ energy.  Major arcana energies are like rivers of energy that impact us – if we choose to swim against them, we just make things harder for ourselves.  It is best to consciously embrace the flow of where this energy is taking us.

The meaning of this card from the book is:

“Being ‘in the gap’ can be disorienting and even scary.  Nothing to hold on to, no sense of direction, not even a hint of what choices and possibilities might lie ahead.  But it was just this state of pure potential that existed before the universe was created.  All you can do now is to relax into this no-thingness …. Fall into this silence between the words…. Watch this gap between the outgoing and incoming breath.  And treasure each empty moment of the experience.  Something sacred is about to be born.”

When I tuned in about this card for us at this time, this is the message I received:

“This time, this particular time right now, we are standing on the cusp of something.  So much has dissolved before our eyes, and continues to dissolve.  It’s not at all clear where we are heading.  In the cycle of creativity, the old has dissolved and the new hasn’t yet been conceived of.  No vision, no light, no clarity.  Only darkness, dreaming the dream of existence.

This space is scary and frightening in a world where you are taught to ‘know’, where you are expected to be productive, to ‘have a plan’.  But this world is being unmade before your eyes and there is nothing you can do about it.

The message is to sit tight, harness the stillness of waiting, breathe into the silence between worlds.  April is a cusp point.  We are swiftly letting go of the dock and departing for shores unknown.

But know that if you slow down, come to be still and then drop even deeper into yourself and your deepest knowing, your answers are there in the very fundament of who you are.  Those are the things you can trust right now.

Hold on to those, and then wait…. listening…. Because you will be called exactly when you are needed and you will know what to do.”

* * * * * * *

A deep and slightly dramatic one for this month then. But perhaps not surprising during dramatic times….

Warm wishes to you all for April,

Miche

Energy Reading - March 2022

Hello, lovely people!  Welcome to your reading for this month of March.

For this month, I was guided to pick a card from the “Medicine Cards” deck, by Jamie Sams & David Carson, which offers wisdom through the medicine qualities of different animals.

FROG (REVERSED) – Meaning

Our card for March is FROG, in the reversed position.  Frog is allied with water and fluidity and brings cleansing, clearing and clarity.

But when a card is reversed, it means that the medicine is bringing our attention to the opposite energy, because it is out of balance.  In the case of Frog, it symbolises the need for seeking out all of the “mud” in your system – body, emotions, mind, spirit – and replacing it with clear, clean, flowing energy.

What this might look like is:  taking a break, relaxing in water, detoxing or cleansing, having a good cry, doing some energy cleansing of your body or your home.  It might also involve setting boundaries in order to seal up your container to prevent energy draining out of you.  Anything that will replenish your parched spirit, body and mind.

Reading for This Month

When I tuned in to see how this card relates to us collectively, the message was this:

“When I tune into this card for us this month, I hear the words “Stop.  Take time to listen.  Listen to your own energy system, your own body, your own feelings.  How are you doing?”

If the answer to that is “a bit clogged up”, or something similar, then you are experiencing the energy of Frog Reversed.

The message that’s coming through for us is that we have all been through so much in the last few years, and there is more happening now, and more on its way.  So, in this relentless pace of change that we are in, it’s super important to check in with ourselves and see how we are doing.

If you are feeling a bit snowed under and have lost your sense of clarity and direction, it’s not surprising.  The world is a very different place than it was before March 2020.  All the instability and uncertainty takes its toll and we can’t just keep marching relentlessly forwards without the possibility that something will go ‘ping’ and we wind up on our backs like reversed frog, flailing in the mud.

This is the warning of the frog card.  Attend to clearing and cleansing and resting and recuperating yourself now by choice, before something goes wrong and you are forced to do it by circumstances.

You don’t have to stop completely, but it is important to dial up your self-care, empty out what isn’t serving you, and begin to concentrate on filling your tank with what does.

The buzzwords are REST, RECUPERATION, CLEANSING & HEALING.  Just in time for Spring-cleaning season!”

Hope that’s helpful to you.  As always, please take what resonates and let go of anything that doesn’t serve you.

Warmly, as always,

Miche

Candle Magic for Imbolc (Feb 1-2)

Imbolc is a pagan festival celebrating the returning light, and traditionally marked the beginning of spring. It was sacred to the goddess Brigid who was goddess of fire, fertility, childbirth and healing, and of the hearth and home. Stories tell that at Imbolc, Brigid sweeps through the land in her flowing white dress, sprinkling the magic of new growth in the shape of the green buds and shoots of spring, waking up the land ready for Nature’s abundance to shine forth in the coming months.

As such, Imbolc is symbolic of hope and new beginnings.

Candle Magic

As a way of marking the beginning of Spring, we can light candles on or around Imbolc in a symbolic way, making wishes and setting intentions for the coming year. It only takes 5 minutes but can be a potent way of calling in what we would like to see manifested for us and those we love in the coming year.

3 Wishes

The number 3 is considered to be magic in many traditions, hence the fairytale tradition of making or being granted 3 wishes. A lovely way of harnessing this magic is this:

  1. Choose 3 candles. It’s traditional to use white candles at this time of year, to symbolise the purity of the year to come. Any white candles will do.

  2. Pick up one candle and hold it in your hands. Whilst holding it, say out loud your wishes, hopes, dreams and intentions for the coming year for YOURSELF. Then light the candle as a symbol of activating your wishes and intentions.

  3. Repeat this, making wishes for OTHER PEOPLE whose lives you wish blessings for.

  4. Repeat this, now making wishes for the WORLD.

  5. Set your three candles on a window ledge, or outside if you have a way of sheltering them so they don’t blow out. Leave them to burn right to the end, radiating your wishes out into the world along with the light they produce.

  6. Remember to say ‘Thank you’ as you leave the candles burning, as if they have already come true. This completes the magic!

Energy Reading - February 2022

Our card for the month of February comes from the Osho Zen Tarot pack, which is the pack I use for most of my readings.

INNER VOICE

“The inner voice speaks not in words but in the wordless language of the heart….. There are times in our lives when too many voices seem to be pulling us this way and that. Our very confusion in such situations is a reminder to seek silence and centring within. Only then are we able to hear our truth.”

Energy Reading - January 2022

My feeling before picking for January was that the message would be a simple one. And it is… The card is from the “Mother’s Wisdom” deck by Sulamith Wulfing.

LOVE

“Receive and return LOVE.  You are forever included in the circle of divine tenderness.”

And the message I received for us is this:

“In this time of alienation from each other, from our loved ones, and with the division we are seeing in the world around us, the simple message is for us to share our love with each other.

And, that although there may be feelings of isolation right now, to remember, or maybe come to know and understand, that just by being alive each of us is loved by the Divine. Every one of us has the essence of the Divine within us, and that essence is pure love.  So we are never, and can never be, truly separated from love.

In giving it, we receive the feeling of it ourselves.  In receiving it, we allow it to flow through someone else. Love -in-action allows love to flow.

Resting in Love is all that’s needed for January. Loving each other and loving ourselves.

We are always held by unseen, angelic hands. Rest and know you are loved.”

Much love from me to you this month. Feeling you all in my heart,

New Year Energy Reading - 2022

So, after the changes and chaos and stress of 2020 and 2021, I know many of us are wondering what 2022 has in store for us. And the message is that we can expect more change…. But it comes with clear recommendations for how we can manage those changes. So, without further ado, here is the New Year Energy Reading for 2022…

TOBIRA OF THE WATERS - Meaning

Our card for the year 2022 is from The Faeries Oracle (by Brian Froud and Jessica McBeth) and is TOBIRA OF THE WATERS which symbolises Emotions, Serenity, Meditation, Gracefully accepting change.

In pagan times, it was thought that elemental beings (in other words fairy-folk) looked after the waters at holy sites, allowing them to run pure and clean and fresh, and enchanted (many believed) with healing abilities. Tobira is one of the elemental beings that look after the purity and clarity of the waters of the world.

As water is symbolic of the flow of emotions within us, she also caretakes the purity and clarity of the emotions that run through us, or that get blocked. This card brings the qualities of enchanted, healing water to cleanse and purify our stagnancy, our ‘clogged and blocked channels’, our lack of flow, to restore our magic to us.

Reading for this Month

“The message is for us all to look at how we have become clogged up and stagnant emotionally.  Water often signifies healing, and it is time for us to begin healing, both personally and collectively, from the awful difficulties many have faced since the pandemic began.

How can you support yourself to let your feelings flow? Spending time outdoors near water, taking long salt baths, drinking lots of pure water, having a good cry, are all good ways to let the healing energy of water flow through your life.

The card also speaks of change, particularly a change in emotions and/or health.  There will be changes coming this year, and, just as water is mutable, changeable, and fluid, we can allow ourselves to flow with these changes – either towards “the calm, flowing purity of the faery waters or the boiling cauldron of hot temper and steamy emotions.”  This is a year for making choices about which way we want our lives, and our society, to flow.

The choices we make now determine how our future flows.”

* * * * * * *

As I always recommend, please don’t just take my word for it…. Tune into the message for yourself, check in with your own intuition, and take what resonates for you and make it your own, letting go of anything that doesn’t.

* * * * * * *

Wishing you all a light, bright, joyful and flowing 2022, with plenty of whatever your heart wishes for. May you and your loved ones be well, and joy and happiness shine through.

With love,

Miche

Emotional Regulation Tool #2

The Gentle Shake-Out

This month’s Therapy Treasure is for those who have a tendency to low mood during the winter.  It can also be useful for burnt-out and shut-down due to long-term stress.

Great for:  feeling low, shut-down, numb, depressed

This tool works by supporting gentle regulation of your nervous system.  Although shutting-down and numbing-out protects us from the damaging effects of too much cortisol and the discomfort of anxiety and overwhelming feelings, it can leave us feeling depressed, numbed-out, low and lacking in our vital energy.

The remedy for shut-down is to bring some gentle energy back into the system in a way that feels good and satisfying, whilst avoiding over-stimulation which can stimulate more shut-down.

How to do it

Put on some music that you find relaxing, but also has a bit of a beat to it.  Then plant your feet flat on the floor, hip width apart, and begin to shake from your pelvis.

The aim is to move just enough to feel good, but not so much that it feels harsh.  See if you can get all the flesh on the lower part of your body – hips, thighs, tummy, bottom – moving rhythmically in a way that feels satisfying, with as little movement as possible. Don’t worry what you look like – put your attention into how it FEELS….

The Sweet Spot

Our nervous systems love repetitive movement – we tend to find it physiologically soothing – so this is what you are aiming for…  To find the sweet spot in your body and match it with the right movement so it feels really GOOD!

I recommend going gently and quietly, rather than shaking like a mad-thing.  You need to be able to really FEEL into what feels good to find the sweet spot where you are listening to your body and giving your system what it needs.  If you shake too hard, you will miss the ‘still small quiet voice’ within your body.  Ideally, you are aiming to let go of your mind and let your body take over.

You might find that you start shaking one part, and then you get the urge to change the movement and shake from another part, say your chest or your belly, rather than your hips.  Or once you get going you might have the urge to get a bit more vigorous in your movements. Follow those urges…. They are your North Star in this practice.  They are your system asking for what it needs.

Feelings

As you shake, you should begin to feel parts letting go and waking up.  Maybe your insides will uncurl, your breath deepen… Maybe feeling will come back into parts that were numb.

Emotions may surface.  If they do, make sure you keep on breathing! This will help the energy of the feelings to move on through.  Cry if you need to, make noises, shout, or even laugh!  All of this is the ‘stuckness’ dissolving and an important part of you getting yourself moving and vital again.

Contraindications

If you have experience of trauma, sometimes this practice can put you in touch with some of that trauma energy that is held within the body.

If you feel shaky, dizzy or light-headed:  stop, place your hands against a wall and push hard into the wall.   Breathe OUT in long slow breaths, so your out-breath is longer than the in-breath.  Stamp your feet and continue to push against the wall, until you feel yourself coming back into your body.

You can then come back to the practice and try again.  But if you find the practice continues to stimulate this response, then I would recommend getting some support from a practitioner who specialises in trauma.

Getting through the winter

So, there you have it… The Gentle Shake-Out.  My suggestion is to incorporate this practice into your days through the winter.  Little and often is good, maybe 10-15 minutes at a time. Even just 5 minutes can be beneficial.  Longer sessions of 30 mins to an hour can give a deeper dive and support some lasting physiological changes.

My hope is that you’ll find your vitality gently returning to you, bit by bit, practice by practice, carrying you through the winter, ready and energised when Spring finally comes around again.

* * * * * * *

And, if you are like me and you tend to read these kind of things but not get round to doing them, can I give you a little nudge to try it just for 5 minutes and see? You never know what might shift for you….

* * * * * * *

As always, if you have any questions, please do get in touch.

Wishing you all a blessed and beautiful second half of the winter, and 2022 to come.

Warmly,

Miche

Energy Reading - December 2021

Welcome, lovely folks, to my first reading for a group of people.  Thanks for tuning in.

For this month, I was guided to pick a card from the “Medicine Cards” deck, by Jamie Sams & David Carson, which offers wisdom through the medicine qualities of different animals.  It’s a wonderful deck that I’d highly recommend, if you are interested in buying a deck for yourself.

BADGER (REVERSED) – Meaning

Our card for December is BADGER, in the reversed position.  Badger is symbolic of aggressiveness, tenacity, working towards goals, getting to the root of something.

But when a card is reversed, it means that the medicine energy is not being expressed cleanly.  In this case, it symbolises passivity, inability to stand your ground, fear of the fight.  The quote from the book is “Contrary Badger speaks of a need for more aggressive action in life.  No more inactivity can prevail without creating some kind of pain.”

Reading for This Month

When I tuned in to see how this card relates to us collectively, the message was this:

“I see a white dove and I hear the word purity, symbolising peace and the highest of ideals. But there is fear.  Where are you afraid in your life right now?  Where are you not taking the bull by the horns and acting aggressively enough?  How are your boundaries?  What are you letting slide that you actually really care about?

There is the perception that fierceness is unpalatable to others.  But is this actually a projection? How is not palatable to you?  Make your peace with your own fierceness.  Peace and fierceness can co-exist.  They keep the world in balance.  However, anger out of control does not bring peace.  There is a balance to be struck.

Look to your roots.  They will not allow you to go astray.  You need to fight for your peace by holding on tenaciously to that which matters to you.”

* * * * * * *

So, a strong message!  I always recommend that you don’t just take my word for it…. I invite you to tune into the message for yourself and take what resonates for you and make it your own, and let go of anything that doesn’t.

* * * * * * *

Wishing you all tenacity and peace this month.  Go well in the dark time up to Winter Solstice…. And I hope you have a lovely Christmas time, whatever you are doing.

Big love from me,

Miche

P.S. I’ll be sending out an Energy Reading every month in my newsletter. If you haven’t already, you can sign up to receive it here.

Emotional Regulation Tool #1

Image by Max Van Den Oetelaar

Tighten the scarf so you feel the pressure of it around you

THE HOLDING SELF-HUG

At the moment, I’m passionate about what I call “Nervous System Hacks”!  These are simple practices that enable us to ‘hack into’ our reflexive (unconscious) nervous system functioning to manage our emotional state.

Consistent with the theme of being “held” in the warm, dark womb-space running up to Solstice this December, here is a simple one which I call the Holding Self-Hug.

Great for: anxiety, overwhelm, stress, panic, distress, feeling triggered

How to do the Holding Self-Hug

Grab a wide scarf, shawl or small blanket.  Put it round your shoulders and pull it tight in front of you.  Then twist the ends you are holding in front into a knot, so that the scarf tightens firmly around your shoulders.  And then sit for a while.  You can be watching TV, listening to music or talking to someone, or whatever feels good to you, as long as you keep the pressure up.

What effect should it have?

Over time, you should begin to notice yourself calming down, your breathing regulating, your heart rate slowing and feel like you are beginning to come to rest.  And hopefully, you will feel safe again.

How does it work?

We all have neuroceptors that respond to the sensation of pressure on our bodies.  When they detect pressure, they signal the message of ‘SAFETY’ back to the nervous system which then switches off the fight or flight response.  Our nervous system begins to regulate and we feel more settled.

Neuroceptors are why children seek safety in their parents’ laps, why it feels good to snuggle with an animal, why babies that are not held can ‘fail to thrive’, and why weighted blankets are great for those with sensitive nervous systems.

So please do give it a go and see if it works for you, and let me know if you have any questions.

Wishing you happy self-hugging!

Miche

P.S. I’ll be sending out a new Therapy Treasure every month in my newsletter. If you haven’t already, you can sign up to receive it here.

Halsford Park Community Art Project 2017

With the intention to inspire our school community and get people working together, Halsford Park Community Art Project 2017 was a resounding success! Young and old, students and teachers alike painted their own square of the painting "Sea Holly and Skylarks" by Cornish artist John Dyer.  And then we pieced it together to create our own version, which is now framed and hanging in the school hall.  Well done everyone!
